Minions are small, yellow, pill-shaped creatures who are a prominent part of the animated film franchise beginning with Despicable Me (2010).
They are characterized by their childlike behavior and largely indecipherable language, often referred to as "Minionese". Their primary motivation is to serve the most despicable master they can find.
Initially serving Gru, the main protagonist of Despicable Me, they eventually starred in their own prequel movie, simply titled Minions (2015), which explores their origins and their quest to find the ultimate villain to serve.
The Minions have become widely popular, appearing in numerous spin-offs, short films, and merchandise, solidifying their status as iconic animated characters.
